Since this is the closest thing I will ever have to a journal to record my life for posterity's sake, then I guess I should include some more back ground then just our day to day happenings. So Becky I am going to take a que from you and record on how Brad and I met and ended up in Happily Ever After-ville :)
After my divorce Myles and I lived with my parents. Mom kept encouraging me to try some online dating just for fun. Well she just kept bring it up and then one night told me in so many words "You spend all your child-free time at home crocheting, get out and find a man so you can move already!" OK, Mom was much more tactful and loving then that, but let's be honest I am no social butterfly! So I tried the free services and found exactly what I expected, Perverts and Losers. So I finally bit the bullet and tried a service that cost $$. Once again Mom stepped in and recommended eHarmony because she liked their commercials (whoever does their advertising obviously had her in their demographics:)). So I signed up for eHarmony and took the forever long personality profile and compatibility tests. Fast forward about 2 months and Brad and I start emailing, then talking on the phone, and decide to meet.
Our first date (Oct 2005) was at Ruby Tuesday's in Draper and then on to Boondock's. We had a nice dinner. I don't think we talked about anything except the kids and soccer ( It was something we were both comfortable talking about, just don't make us talk about ourselves :)) At Boondock's we played miniature golf, rode go-karts, and played some intense games of air hockey. Come to find out Brad hated the Red boots I wore that night. I am still boggled how I married a man who cant appreciate my kick-ass red boots, but anyway!
We didn't meet up again for a while, we were both pretty gun shy. A couple of weeks later I called and invited Brad to a Jazz game, I had suite tickets and everything. Ok- here is the kicker, he turned me down!!! Yep, he had a poker game planned for the night of the game and he was the host so he couldn't miss it. Well I just told him "no problem I can bring another date". I ended up taking my nephew Dusty to the game with me :)
So a few weeks later I call Brad again to say hello, and he claims he had been meaning to call but his phone had broken and thus he had lost my number. OK, at this point I have been turned down for a pro-sport event and been given a "line" about losing my number. I was ready to write this one off, I could read between the lines! But he saved the day by asking me out again. So we went on a date to a comedy club (this time I wore Red Loafers, not as kick-ass as the boots, but still a confidence booster. Come to think of it I don't think we kissed until we went on a date where I wasn't wearing Red shoes!!) Several dates later he was getting his hair cut before our date and mentioned to the stylist that he wasn't sure how to convey that he was interested in being more serious. She quickly ask if he has given me Flowers yet, he tells her no, she was like "well duh!" So Brad gave me flowers that night and yepper, we finally had that first kiss :)
So that is how we came to be couple and the rest, as they say, is history!!

Sheesh, Brad. Get a clue! You almost let that one get away.
Loved this post...we'll have to make some of those Costco printed scrapbooks with our blog posts. Love you guys and I'm so glad you found each other. I love Brad a lot...he's a great addition to our family. And he puts up with your red shoe antics, which is definitely rare ;)
i love the "how we met" blog. So sweet. I also wish i could see those hot, red, boots!!!! red shoes are my all time fav!!!! Every girl needs at least one pair! You guys are super fab and seem super happy and that is priceless!!!!!! see u soon. xo
The part about your mother being so vocal and opinionated and pushy must be about someone else, heaven knows I'm just not one to open my mouth about anything.....
Now the part about the red cowboy boots and red shoes just goes to prove that your mother has done a very good job of raising her daughter to understand and appreciate the finer points of the color "red".
I think you Heavently Father had a hand in finding the "Brad person" to complete your search for a companion. He truly is a gem!
OMG that's a little more than I wanted to know (first kiss).
Oh, anonymous is your father in-law.
Ohhh, so cute! Hopefully I remember NEVER to wear red shoes around Brad or else I know he will be talking about it later!! I am totally wearing some red platforms on Saturday...just kidding, don't have any.
