Lisa Jan Gentry

My Mother Lisa Jan Gentry passed away on Monday March 15, 2010. All of her children were able to be there with her during her last days, and I know that would have meant the world to her. I am so grateful for an amazing family that pulled together and made Mom's graveside service just perfect.

Thank you to everyone who sent all of the lovely thoughts, flowers, and offers for help. Mom was so very loved and will be so very missed. But I know her body is finally at peace. She is with other loved ones now, that have waited ages to be with her again.

The pal-bearers were Rob, Dennis, Joe, Brad, Dusty and Myles. Mom loved being surrounded by all of her handsome men :)

I would like to thank the staff at the LDS Hospital that took such great care of Mom. Near the end her nurse Ben even gave Mom Pepsi in her feeding tube and swabbed her mouth with Pepsi. It was gestures like this that showed how much they had gotten to know and love our Mother.
I want to thank Brad for taking care of/putting up with me through all of this. He was always patient even when I was short and snippy with him. I love you babe!
I also want to thank my place of work, AFA. I have received a huge outpouring of support from by boss and my department. They have covered so many of my duties in order for me to spend the necessary time with family and making arrangements.

Growing Up

We truly don't have little ones anymore. Both Myles and Shakierra are growing up faster then I can blog about it :) For having to teenagers I think we have it pretty easy (knock on wood), but tell them that!!

Myles got to work at the South Town Expo Home Show for Grandma and Grandpa Jolley. He loved the chance to earn some moola (which is going towards clip-less pedals for his new bike). He also loved the chance to talk to people non-stop for two days. If you know Myles you know he is blessed with the gift of gab!

After Myles kicked our trash on the last bike ride, we decided he had earned a true road bike. So we went to the bike swap at the state fair grounds and found a killer deal. Brad totally wants to trade bikes with Myles now :) Just the wheels alone make us both green with envy! Our next ride is in April riding the SLC Marathon route.

Shakierra may not be getting as tall as Myles, but she is growing up quickly too. She is enjoying her first year of Jr. High. We had her hair cut for her b-day and I think it looks great on her!
Myles had his first school night dance. He insisted he needed a tuxedo, but we were able to convince him that his church clothes would have to suffice. Here he is stiking a sexxy pose! (Looks more Jim Carey-ish if you ask me!)

Do all the good you can
By all the means you can
In all the ways you can
In all the places you can
At all the times you can
To all the people you can
As long as ever you can.
