I was so bummed to hear that Jerry Reed past away this morning. He has some of the funniest songs. One of Myles' all time favorites is "Amos Moses". Who can resist quoting lines from his songs like "Just knock 'em in the head with a stump" or "When your Hot, your Hot" or "Why didn't I just learn how to cook?" I guess you have to be a fan to get the humor in those lines (but I am chuckling as I type them).
So while many of you only know of Jerry Reed as Burt Reynolds side kick in "Smokey and the Bandit" (he wrote and sang the theme song for that movie). Those of us who still love our old-time-hickish tunes will greatly miss Jerry Reed (does that just include Dad and I??)!
"Music is the most powerful thing on this earth, and it's hard to be angry when you are listening to music." -- Jerry Reed
